I will be getting legal advice but just wanted to hear from others that might be in the know or been through similar situations. As always, you guys have been more than helpful.

sMY00n : I'll be in contact shortly for further clarification about what you're saying there.
Let me know how you go, I'm trying to sort the same out right now.. :-)

AFAIK if you are in a relationship for more than 6 months you are classed as defacto which holds the same rights as a married couple. A form 11 is applicable to defacto couples.

Nah mate, nothing like that. It was a mutual break-up which is always good and we still speak to each other regularly as friends. The car is going strong as always, but it's screaming at me for a TBE and coilovers

I'll let you guys know how the form 11 goes for future reference.

With consent orders you can. You only end up paying you settlement agent fees.

Agreed. The other issue is because two people have to work to pay the mortgage they can not afford for the women to stop working and start having kids. Hence they leave it later and later and then run into all sorts of fertility issues and have to have ivf and the like and put all sorts of extra strain on the relationship.

Take myself for eg. I earn really good money and have my own house and survive just fine. However, there is no way in gods earth that I could afford the mortgage and support a wife that was not working and start a family.
