Tyres - what's the best option?
At it seems that I'll be taking the car into more and more driving events as time goes on, am I better off getting some tyres better suited for track type activities and then swapping them over on the day? Obviously this would mean I'd need to get some more rims too.
Some questions I have are: Slicks - What is the average price I can expect to pay per tyre for decent ones? Seeing as slicks are not road legal, would that mean having to take them with me and changing them at the event and then changing back before I leave? Semi-slicks - Are they any good or an acceptable compromise seeing as they can be used on the street as well? Pros and cons? Any other options I should consider and the pros and cons of each? Or am I best to just keep using the RE070's and replacing them more frequently? Thanks.

You need 2 sets of rims (at least!). Street tyres are gay for track times. R-comps will nett faster times at every event you do.
Slicks - waste of time. Doubt there would be many events where you could even use them. Semi-slick/R-comps - Slap on a set of A050's and profit. Street - AD08's

Yokohama Neova AD07 or AD08 for the street without a doubt. A050m (medium compound r-comp) for the track.
These are the fastest consumable tyres on the market currently.

If you are after a track usable street tyre have a look at Falken RT615's great tyre!

im looking at getting toyo R888, or dunlop Z1.
I rekon u can drive with them on the street obviously u will only get 5-10ks outof them. Im wondering however will this dramatically affect the tyres due to heat cycles. i.e going from say work to home etc?

as above, there are pretty much no classes that will allow you to run on slick tyres in WA with an AWD. Which is a pity really because I found some really cheap ones..
As above, get yourself onto a second set of wheels with A050's for track use. I've onl got one decent set of wheels at the moment and it is a pain in the arse swapping tyres for each event

Yes, the tyres are their most efficient in the first few dozen heat cycles. driving on the street will make them go hard which will in turn make them last longer but they will offer less grip. My last set was some Brigestone RE55's that were so old the compund hadn't been made in 4 years. I drove them to Collie and back no issues

The Toyo 888's I think are made to withstand the heat cycles like a street tyre.
Could be fact, could be urban legend though...
