Default Paypal shenanigans

Since we are on topic of paypal...i've got a dispute open at the moment, since the bitch sold me an item which said "new" and it wasn't. Anyways it was granted in my favour by paypal and i had to send it back...makes me think, how can paypal "make them pay" sort of thing.

I know they provide CC numbers to register but what if you cancel it?

say the item was $300 their paypal account balance will be -$300, they then have to zero the balance before they can use paypal again. If they don't pay it up in 3 months or something their paypal account gets banned and their credit cards can never be used with another paypal account.

If the amount is quite large (not sure on how large) then paypal will try to get their money back, not exactly sure how.

Doesn't paypal holds the funds for a certain time?

If so maybe that's how they can make them pay people back.

it holds it for like a day or two, you can transfer it into your account pretty much straight away...hence my question.

they have ur CC details, which means they can get your address etc from the bank you are with. They probably just threaten debt collection, like any other credit facility or banking institution.

With my Paypal account I had to register a CC & a Bank account. Normal payments are taken from the bank account (like buying from Ultrex) but if theres not enough funds it comes off the credit card.

I've been shafted on there once before, was something like $500 for a TRD bumper & headlight for the Aurion...recieved the headlight but not the bumper. In the end they took his money back easily (minus $100 odd for the headlight) & refunded to me.

Easy process, just takes a while. Make sure you take notes or open a dispute as soon as you realise somethings up.

yeah that's all up and running the dispute has been granted in my favour (hate the fact i had to fork out the money to send the item back). The seller has been told to pay up, hasnt done so yet but it just makes me think how can paypal force them to pay. These days cancelling a CC takes 5 minutes.
