Sat Nav
What is a good Sat Nav unit atm?
My Old man has a Philips Carin (now vdo) and I reckon its a great system. I see these Navman Satnavs advertised. The Idea I have is to put it in the compartment which sits on the Dash in the Mazda 6 MPS, however the top of the unit will be covered and I am unsure if the antenna will work since it will be covered. Are they like the Carin where they have an external antenna or will it work? Cheers |

Many choices to choose from.
If you are like me, you will build your own. However, you can get a nice "garmin" unit that will come with a cradle and maps to boot. I have personally used the Navman GPS 3450 Sleeve, works nicely with a PDA. I was able to use both the Navman provided software or third party stuff, i would say its highly recommended. The new PN series of the Navman is pretty good too. Pete. |

I picked my Mio 136 up for $550. Uses the whereis.com maps, has a 3.5 inch touch screen. Has been perfect so far except it tells you when your speeding like a second wife haha. external wireless antenna is 60 bucks so Ill getting that next. The battery life is good at around 8 hours, handy if youre on foot.
