Default Engagement Ring

Hi Guys,

Totally random question, but I figure someone here might know.

I have an engagement ring that I need to sell. It was handmade by a place here in perth with a pretty good stone and side stones.

It's a 0.70ct in a D colour with VVS1 Clarity, and from what I remember all the side stones (10) are a G colour and VS1 clarity.

Anyway, does anyone here know places that would resell it? Or do you think I should pull it apart and sell it that way?

If anyone knows anything, any info would be appreciated.

The place that made it might be your best bet. They know the history and can vouch for the quality.
At least they will have contacts that will help you out.

Or ebay

Unfortunately you will struggle to find a store that will sell anything on consignment. My missus (a jeweller at Solid Gold) said that jewellery stores balk at selling anything that is not made by them. Jewellers don't want to guarantee any work that wasn't made by them as there are lots of unknowns that aren't detectable until things like resizing and repairs happen. There is also no way they will buy the stones, even with certification.

Best bet is to just hang onto it until another lucky lady comes into your life. Get it re-sized or melt it down and remade into another style of ring. I don't know what cut the diamond is, but you have a top shelf diamond there (clarity wise).

yeah that was the other option.

I remember how much headache it was making this one and selecting the diamond. Not to mention the dent they put in your bank account! but then again, didn't really expect to have it back.

i'll see what the people who made it say, otherwise i may just keep it.

i just keep thinking.. the things i could do to my car if i sold it.. ha ha ha.

Mate you will be lucky to get half what you paid for it, I wanted to upgrade the missus' recently and flagged the idea because of the hit we would have taken on the old one....
