^^^ Please fit round headlights to that Escort.

What about a Duratec engine in the MK1 Esky? Seems to be the rage at present.

sorry for the thread revival but I have a few questions:

can you think of a readily available and affordable car that has a seperate body/chasis? If it goes/handles well to start with then this is a bonus.

could one be had for under a thousand dollars?

also, I saw a guy drive past my house today with an old rwd corolla on a trailer. it looked like a track car/drifter and had a cage. What are the requirements with this (at an entry level) as I am sure the cage would be worth more than the car if it came from one of the regular manufacturers.

Holden HQ ute or panel van?
Under a grand...yes.
Handling.....um, no.

Pretty much anything made this century with a chassis is a truck or heavy 4WD.

Anything old with a chassis either didn't handle (anything American including Corvette), was butt ugly (Toyota Crown), or costs a fortune (Austin Healy etc)

TVR is a terrible car.
AE71 / KE70 would be a fun project if you can find one that's not too rusty.
Perhaps look into whether Al from AM Auto's has sold the unfinished BEAMS engined KE55 project they had?
