Can someone work out what G force is involved for 0-200 in 1.3 seconds?

I don't think that figure of over 4 is correct. Besides, you need friction coefficient to get g.

I just had a look a the list in http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/G-force
it has 4.2 for a dragster, and over 5g for F1 in braking & cornering.

Bite my coefficient of friction!

I think it's close enough. The top fuel dragsters record g force is 4.4g's and I'd assume the 0-200 time is based on the record run.

How is friction co-efficient included for g? You have start and final velocities, time and can estimate the weight of a top fueller. Friction would be included as part of the time imo. If the air friction or traction on the ground changed, the time elapsed would change to suit.

1g is simply acceleration equivalent to that of gravity 9.81m/s^2

therefore to accelerate from 0-200km/hr (0-55.555m/s) in 1.3 sec

Average acceleration= V/t = 55.555/1.3 = 42.7346m/s^2

convert to g's is /9.81 => 42.7346/9.81= 4.356g
