hey i actually remember this car... It was for sale a while back when i was looking for a car. Believe it was advertised in Wanneroo at that point it was going for 25k. So its probably why the price is what it is. He probably swindled it down to 23-24k and now is asking what he paid.

Unfortunately i never went to look at the car in person, but almost certain from the picture i saw it was a sti

In regards to the above car. Id steer clear. Rang the guy, he Was all over the place ad spoke 100miles an hour. Spent the first 5mins telling me how he wants to swap it for a 4x4 and couldnt get a word in edgeways. Then asked about the the servce history. Claims to do it himself cause his mate is a mechanic. Told me he had done the 100k service, then asked specifically wether the timing belt had heen done and he said no. Guy was really shady and not very honest.

Like i said, and i'm not sure exactly what you might read into this, but im 99% percent sure this is the same car i was once saw on gumtree near on 3 months back, was asking 25k had identicle mods and 100 000km's on it. I never spoke to the previous owner or anything. But honestly if you can get the details off the guy who owned it before him. It might shed some light. Just because this guy is a tool doesnt mean the guy who sold it to him was.

[QUOTE=Tony;770487] Claims to do it himself cause his mate is a mechanic. QUOTE]

Luckily everyone that has ever sold a car with no service history has a mate that is a mechanic...

I've once done a lot of services on and old school car TE cortina wagon owned. If people are going to do a service themselves i dont understand why they dont keep receipts of the parts they bought. Proves exactly what you have done and also atleast the date they were bought. Its not perfect but a shitload better than the... my mates a mechanic.

While not technically a bargain, far from it actually, but it's interesting to see a 2005 WRX with less than 70 000 ks on it. Plus the first selling point is a coded keypad immobiliser so you know its completely unmodified, unless you count the bonnet guard that is.
