Also not being rude but he did say something that you dont see everyday, and $500 watches are quite common these days.

Tags and Rolex are ones you dont see everyday and they are 3K+

But within that price range I would get a low end tissot or a seiko, you will get a decent watch for that price.

So After much searching and net trawling - my defintion of not worn everyday i think has been misunderstood.

i already have a casio watch that serves daily work duty etc.
not worn everyday, for me, doesnt mean unique its actually im not going to wear it everyday.

I know the amount of money isnt particuarly large/extravigent/baller spec enough to be rolling in the tag/rolex/breitling etc leagues.

im simply looking for a nice watch that doesn't have scratches, paint missing, bent bracelet.

it looks like either the seiko or tissot will end up getting my vote, as i think they look kickass & fit right into my budget.

Even considering the 2010 MotoGP Limited edition model atm... its perty

I was in the same boat as you about 8 months ago, wanted a really nice watch without the really expensive price tag. I like my watches to be nice enough to wear out/dress up. But also comfortable and casual enough to wear everyday. I picked up myself one of these from the States (internet purchase):

$1300 at Myer, went and tried it on, absolutely loved it but didn't like the price.....

Got it for approx $400 delivered to my door (when the Aussie dollar was at about 95-97c)

The watch is mint, description as follows:

SEIKO Coutura Kinetic Perpetual Calendar Collection:
Kinetic Quartz Movement Features
Uses the motion of the wrist and body to generate power for the watch
Power Reserve Function
When the watch senses 24 hours of inactivity it puts itself into suspended animation (sleep mode) to conserve energy. The date continues to advance correctly while the watch is asleep. Wake it up with a few shakes of your wrist and it automatically resets itself to the correct time even if it’s been asleep for up to 4 years.
High accuracy - yearly loss/gain rate of less than 20 seconds
Energy depletion forewarning function
Perpetual Calendar Function
Automatically adjusts the date for odd and even months including February of leap years up to February 28, 2100
Subdial at 8 o'clock position indicates the number of years since last leap year
Subdial at 6 o'clock position indicates the month
Oversized Double Window to read the date
Sapphire Crystal is nearly scratch proof
All Stainless Steel Construction, case and bracelet
Water resistant up to 100 Meters
Push Button Release Deployment Clasp
Cabochon crown
DIMENSIONS:

Diameter 42 millimeters (44 millimeters with crown)
Depth (thickness) 12 millimeters
