Mac Nerds: Screen Sharing in Lion (VNC)
Hello to all the Mac nerds...
Can anyone help with this? I am wanting to 'remote desktop' from a Windows box into my OSX Lion box via the internetz. So yeah, screen sharing enabled etc etc. I've installed UltraVNC viewer on my Windows PC. Leave everything as Auto and it connects ok, but it is slower than downloading porn on a 14.4 modem. If I load any custom settings (i.e. 256 colour) to try and help speed the connection up, it won't connect and I get this: So how the fark do I connect? Are there any better alternatives out there? Cheers!

Which VNC server on OSX John?
I only use the screen share over a LAN though but I'm using Vine(?) server on OSX.

Default 'screen share' in settings. No aftermarket mods!

Another option is to install and use 'LogMeIn' over the internet. Works fine for me although there is a bit of lag (could just be my internet).
With an account created, I could set it up on any computer I want in about 10 minutes. For extra fun make it hidden, then remotely disable their keyboards or monitor and hear them rage. |

I should have clarified... This is using the inbuilt screen sharing in Lion. I want to know if it is possible to do what I am doing, otherwise I will setup a VNC server or the like.
Basically Windows comes with Remote Desktop inbuilt which is great. I was hoping the inbuilt 'screen sharing' would be similar, but it fails hard. Just seeing if I'm doing it wrong, or the Apple default stuff doesn't work.
