im pretty sure something of that age doesnt have reverse, unless im mistaken....

check the linkage for the throttle/brake servo....mine was a spline out so it shut off the carb before pulling the brakes...

Most nitros DONT have reverse....only monster trucks do usually, and even with some, its still an optional module you have to add on.

Oh, and unless you've got a Traxxas Revo with optidrive, dont try and find reverse whilst your going forward (or accidentally find it), or you'll smash it to pieces

yer on the carb there should be little screw u can adjust that so when u hold backwards it doenst let the carb fully close, its called the idle screw.

Your servo is just closing the carb too much, I always had mine set to shutoff with full back stick and about half back stick would be locked up brakes.

I still wish I had mine!!!

I still wish I had one of the 40 or so nitro vehicles I've owned in the past 2 years

As for it stopping...yes, its more than likely the throttle screw. You should be able to go full brakes and it should sit at idle.

If the revs rise when you let the brakes off, you need to set the servo trim backwards so the revs dont fluctuate at all when you apply the brakes then release.
