Ferrari Designer Sergio Scaglietti Dies at 91
That's sad...
MODENA, Italy — Sergio Scaglietti was a skilled repairman and an early friend of Enzo Ferrari and his son Dino. That friendship with the Ferrari family — Scaglietti located his first repair shop in 1951 across the road from the Ferrari works in Maranello — and his skill in repairing and eventually designing racecars would make the Scaglietti name one of the most revered in sports-car circles. Scaglietti, who died Sunday at age 91 at his home in Modena, was associated with some of the most beautiful and famous Ferraris of the past 60 years, notably the 1958 Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa. MORE Responsible for some pretty good looking cars I have to say.... - Alex. Last edited by ams; 23-11-2011 at 03:31 PM. |

That's very sad news. Thoughts go out to his children and grand children.

Taken far too soon.........
Sorry, I just don't at all feel the need to mourn this guy. I'd rather salute him while drinking a cold one. He got to spend his life designing and building beautiful sports cars and for all I know spending his off time enjoying the finest hookers Italy has to offer and copious amounts of cocaine. In short, a life that should be celebrated.
