You don't have to live far out of a country town anywhere in WA and not get any ADSL from the copper network. If your on the current satellite system is live living in the 90's with a v90 modem. Conroy has chosen a few extreme examples, but the medical outposts in these areas would also benefit.

The issue I see is that the NBN rollout is so far behind for the 97% that spending $620M on the 3% when there are faster technologies availed now that should be cheaper to implement makes it a waste of tax payers money.

I for one am still on ADSL1 well below 8kbs and I'm in an a urban central area.
