On a similar note (similar as in average joe citizen is an idiot) I received a RAC newsletter in the mail.

And it has a letters/complaints/ideas page. One lady said "I know people, they say its common practise to drill/put holes in your exhaust to make it louder"

I wasn't sure whether to laugh or smack my head on the bench top with the stupidity of these people.

One of my neighbours complained about my car being a little noisey @ 04:30 when I reverse out and drive down the road to go to work. I told them that I have to sleep during the day when they were screaming at each other and their kids. So it was life balancing itself out

Make a bunch of complaints about all the cars on your street, go over the same ones again a few times. They will think it's someone just causing trouble and ignore the whole lot.

Then when everyone has forgotten about it in a few months. Do a shit at their front doors.

If you go to work at 4:30 AM you really shouldn't have a car that's even a "little noisy".

I do understand that, I keep it under 2500RPM until I am 3 minutes down the road and onto the main road.

And my house is backing onto Kalamunda Road as it starts to go up the hill. So honestly I am the quietest car most nights with V8's tearing up the hill like idiots. I even get woken up by fools racing up the hill.

Care-factor is pretty low to be honest in car noise department

EDIT: in the interest of fairness I went to my next door neighbour and the one across the road. They said I had woken them up only once. But the Bitches who complained have a dog that yaps, yaps, yaps, and won't let them get to sleep. So now I have ammo if they keep this shit up.

Having seen where Dan lives and how far he is from the next house etc, I think anyone whinging is just a sooky prick.

Having said that, ANYONE with a noisy car should be firing up and moving within seconds, not idling for minutes. Evidence shows this is not beneficial in any way shape or form for the car.

To the OP, go around the street and fornicate with everyones mothers - that will teach them. And if not, at least they can call you a mother fucker for real.

Cheers Teejay, they have not got many fans around the neighbour hood

Its common sense to get moving, I dont idle it warm for that reason, it better to warm the car as a unit, not peice by peice.

I'm going to report Telstra's entire fleet, and all the unmarked police cars while I'm at it...
