Default Life Insurance recommendations

Afternoon All,

Myself and my wife are looking to get some life insurance but don't really know where to start. Would love to hear some opinions/recommendations from you guys as to what you have set up, and how you went about organising it.

I was just going to ring Allianz tomorrow and see what they offer, but thought maybe someone here might have some good insights

thanks in advance

go see a financial planner. as for the fees, try to find one that takes a flat fee instead of charging a fixed percentage on your super.

Well as you know i'll need both of you shortly.. investment property goes on the market this week so we'll need to sort the re-mortgage etc...

Exciting times (but terrifying too). With luck I might even have enough cash to buy my mates Liberty RS that he just transplanted a new B4 twin turbo setup into - but that's a long way off at the mo

Leave it to your adviser, but depending on what sort of superannuation fund you are paying into, they usually have an option for life insurance, which may be better rates than stand-alone insurance?

Personally, I have kept a stand-alone life insurance going to maintain independence from my super, as I have had several changes of super funds over the years with different jobs, but that has been changed with super regulations now allowing choice of super when changing jobs.

Cheers.

Can be costly dependent upon superfund structure.

The trick is to avoid paying for same coverage when looking at policies.

This has always been around, but can be understandable 'to some degree', when dealing with large volume employees.
