It will be interesting to see how many kits are released from other companies. It will show how many have faith that the platform will be popular... Bullet/Sprintex have put together a pretty awesome supercharger kit too. But I don't know if HP figures have been released |
avo kit is $4200 with an ECUtek licence is close to $5000, not $10000
For anyone interested check out the forced induction section on FT86club.com. There are a number of production turbo and supercharger kits out at the moment like Fullblown motorsports using gt28r through to gt35r making a lot more power than AVO. AVO have the only UEL exhaust manifold atm though. |
ok so $5K for AVO turbo kit then the cost to install it all which I am sure Stechnic do for next to nothing, plus a good custom catback exhaust and wheels you would just get get under $10K budget. The kit I saw looked very stock and fitment was very good.

Realised that might have sounded a bit dickish but didnt mean it like that.
Yeah I do get the additional costs I suppose its to be expected when adding FI to a factory NA car. There is surprisingly a lot of reasonably priced parts for the brz/86 for only being out a year. Like you said though the kit looks very good and love the all black for that OEM finish. |
Up to $10k for approx 20Kw - bargain ???
|
20kw? Try 50-80 if not more.
|
5 psi boost on stage 1 ecutek tune only made around 20 kw atw more (estimated) by Stechnic but we are talking power to weight ratios here and rear wheel drive. I predict one or two of these boost rear wheel drive cars will do some tank slapping this winter.

With such a high compression ratio they'll never be able to generate a decent increase without a piston getting a hole pinged through it. |
