Default eBay/Paypal probs - goods not received.

Hey guyz & girlz...

Done an eBay purchase recently, I think the seller has scammed me .

Ok, it was only 40 bucks. The item is reputed by the seller to be one of several spare Win7 Ultimate 64bit keys bought on a volume licence. (Yeah, risky, I know; but I've done it twice before with good results... I think I let my guard down as a result) I'm within the 45 day period of the transaction and been to Google, PayPal, and on here pounding the search button, no definitive answers so far. The transaction was on 27/05/13 and it shows on the PP account as "completed" (a key word in PayPal territory, apparently - leading to very little they can do in the disputes dept); but no goods so far & seller won't answer msgs thru eBay or emails.

Glad it wasn't an expensive item, but I would like to know for in the future, is there any easy way to reverse a PP transaction without having to go thru their resolution centre process or other piles of red tape?

Cheerz for answers.

If PayPal is via credit card get bank to do reversal. Let Paypal argue with visa/MC/Amex.

Leave bad feedback for the seller, they absolutely hate it

I just got my money back through the Paypal resolution centre. Its was very easy, all you need to do is say that the good didn't arrive and then escalate the dispute to a claim. If the seller doesn't respond to paypal, the money is refunded. My claim took just over a week.

Ok... turns out that eBay themselves actually removed the listing - but only AFTER payment had gone thru... how nice of them to do that.... apparently the seller must have somehow breached the rules of seller listings (no explanation given - copy&paste of dialogue below), yet eBay has shown no regard for the buyer and his funds. Almost like protecting the seller more than the buyer when it should be the other way around, considering payment has to be made by the buyer before items are sent out in most instances. And eBay, who owns PayPal, knows that.

Got this weak-kneed dialogue from eBay on my eBay summary list for the item:

This listing was removed by eBay. If you already paid for the item, we recommend that you wait 10 days from the expected delivery date to see if the item arrives. If you did not pay, you are no longer obligated to pay for this item. If you have a problem with the purchase, you can resolve the problem by filing a claim through our resolution centre.

Well, as soon as I received that, I filed a claim. I just can't help but feel the eBay themselves are more to blame than the seller, for their post-payment unwarranted meddling.

As people have previously stated best route of getting a refund is from a Paypal dispute.

going through eBay wastes more time.

Just open the dispute with Paypal.

If it doesn't get responded to you get your money back.

Lucky you acted quickly as you have a good chance of a refund.
Unlike me who believed the seller when they said they were sending it, took almost a year to get my $700 back then the bastards kept the postage for the item they didn't send because they didn't actually have it!
