You know the my08 is a ugly and slower than a bug right?

To be honest, don't waste your money on the insurance, get something cheaper to insure and get a fezza/porka/STi with the savings you'll be making

The look is a bit subjective, I quite like the look of the 08 hatch, and I will enjoy my improved comfort when driving around. I also don't know about it being slower, all accounts have pointed to it being slightly faster than a stock bug?
It won't be stock for long.

I'm not really sure how that works? Buy a cheap car to insure, and then drive around an uninsured expensive rex?

It means buy a bunky, and save up for something abit more rewarding than an 08 hatch. Dont get him wrong though, their are some decent examples such as trolleys car.

Ah yeah, fair enough. I have seen some really nice examples of this car being done right, and with a few $$ it will be nice and quick too. Feels rewarding enough to me, the car is like a mix between the conservative driver meeting clients at work and the weekend guy having some fun. I like both haha

Slower than a Bugeye Sti maybe Dave, but the 08 would be 0.5 second a quicker over the 1/4 mile. The weights are within about 5kg of each other with slightly more power and lots more torque for the 08.

Long story short, a bee's dick of difference either way and both are as arsehole ugly as one another

^LOL Watch out for the thread in 2020

Ended up going with AAMI again for the time being at least. $230 a month, $2000 excess, and I've had a pleasant experience with the 02 with them. They were cool with me listing mods on the last car so hopefully it's all fine when I start throwing parts into the new one. Will see soon enough.

Thanks for all the help and advice guys, appreciate it
