Yeah man its a sick car...when you think that a ~170k 'off the shelf' car is as close as this to the supergt racing cars, it is quite amazing.

True that 12s is a lot in a race scenario...a few laps add up.
In that first post I thought you were saying the prod record was old news, that one hasn't been broken, Nismo still holds this crown.
ring record holders changes all the time, always a faster million dollar race car every few months takes out the record.

Edit: just read the article, its just happened yesterday! And its still a rumour, McLaren say they did it under 7mins but aren't releasing the time...they'll probably have another official go without slicks this time it might still be a bit faster I reckon.

Thats not the point of the "record", unless I missed the class for "bang for your buck", which everyone knows the GTR has been king of since its release.

918, LaFerrari, both are limited, both will go faster.

All three roll out of a factory with a proper production line and schedule.

NISMO GTR will be a large chunk more than the standard GTR $ wise. But the GTR is old news, it was impressive figures at an impressive price... but with no soul (in my opinion obviously) and now the thing looks dated and is realistically an old shape. The prototypes date back to 2005 and even 2001, so the thing was penned long ago.

There are so many cars that I would take before a GTR for so many reasons, the time a car does around the ring means fuck all to me

I just think comparing the two is a bit harsh.
