Horses for courses, the more people I speak to it seems the wife and I are alone in our loathing for the swift.

The ones we drove felt really cheap and nasty, had some really weird blind spots and just weren't that comfortable. The '2' we drove whipped the Swifts into a cocked hat on every level. We've done a couple of long distance trips in it, a heap of milage around town, will be moving house in it in the next few weeks as well. For us we needed something fairly cheap but still practical enough to use every day and even occasionally move a few large objects and sit four people comfortably. The Swift can't do a lot of those things.

Yeah thats my only gripe with the Swift....its got a massive blind spot in the C pillar, which you do get used to after a while though.

I dunno, I reckon the Swift is up there with the Yaris quality wise, and probably the same as the Mazda....I've driven all, and the Swift came out on top for character i.e. the way it handled and drove, and NVH.

As for moving large objects, I fit an 80cm TV IN THE BOX, into the back of my sisters Swift, with the seats forward It was a tight squeeze, but it fit!!

Ah.. I'd forgotten all about the Yaris.

Haven't taken one for a drive, they were still a few weeks away when we signed on the Mazda. They seem to offer really good value on paper though.

Maybe the Swifts we drove were just lemons.

i've driven alot of "normal" cars, but the 1.3 Yaris was so ridiculously slow that i wanted to get out and walk faster. other than that, it's nice.

the Swift gets my vote, hands down!

Mazda 2 gets my vote!

I had a little Black Maxx for some time... it copped it quite hard for some time. In the end I put 12,000kms on it, sold it with bald tyres etc for 1k less than I purchased it for. I was pretty happy with that.

Comes with indash 6 stacker and all that jazz... so it was a very cool little car. Not to mention the 575kms I'd get out of every tank!

Whats the story Carly? Who is making this decision for you? cause it sucks! you gotta have some joy in your life! why sell? will it actually save you money to get a new car? With stamp duty etc.. the wrx cant be that expensive to run.. can it? you should get a falcoon turbo! they are cheap as.. just dont mod bruce! or take it back to stock.. get a nice eco tune in it! Is this a joke?

Joe.. mate you still buying around normal TV's get a plasma or lcd no drama's, your an old school wog! I bet you only got the normal one cause they gave you a better deal for KESH!
