change your boot order in your bios so it checks floppy then cd drive then hard drive then reboot and it will boot off xp and will reformat the drive then install xp. takes ages to install though

If your XP disk is a pirated copy then it may not be setup to boot.
In that case you will need to create the boot floppy disks. Use a machine with a floppy disk drive. In win2000 there was a "makeboot" utility on the CD which would create the boot disks for you to use in the new machine. I guess XP has a similar utility.

there is no screen were it says "press anykey to boot from cd" but i presses spacebar continuesly and still went into bios......for some reason it wont let it boot from cd.

then ur cd isnt bootable. i have several copys which will take legal keys which are bootable with service pack 2 im happy to make u a copy.
