Default Pod filter laws in WA?

In Western Australia specifically, what are the laws for pod filters?
Are open pod filters illegal? [I.e. the pod filter is fully exposed and has no housing around it]
And do I need a modification permit for a pod filter?

Please let me know.
Also, in particular, it is this one that I bought: Hyperflow WS0107-INT Short Arm Intake (WRX/STi 01-07)

As long as they're secure they are fine. Even if you have a permit a cop can give you a yellow sticker so permits for trivial mods like that are a waste of time.

Also a waste of time is having a pod like this that will just suck in warm air. Buy a COBB or Process West kit that includes an enclosure.

How do you know that? Have you been checked by people at the pits or is there somewhere that states that?

Cops can yellow a sticker a brand new car that hasn’t even left the car yard if they want to. The onus of proof it’s legal is on the car owner.

They are technically illegal, but can be permitted.

...as suggested above, unless you have an actual need(BIIG turbo and power), just a pod would be a step backwards from a factory airbox with good panel filter and inbuilt cai.

So do you suggest that I just drive around with the pod filter until I get pulled over/checked/and defected? (Then revert back to the stock airbox and get the defect removed? Or what should I do. Also, do YOU run a pod filter? [I really want to hear more turbo noise. I also blocked off the blow off valve so I wanna hear louder turbo flutter with the pod filter]
