Stinga,
Take your favourite source CD to your stereo shop. Ask them to REMOVE any EQ that they have across the speakers you wish to audition. Sometimes, an EQ curve that flatters a speaker system in the shop will sound horrible in real life. Assuming you know your favourite source's particular sound/quality, you will quickly hear any shortcomings in the speakers.
Hope this helps...

Cheers.

Youll think im nuts, but Dick Smith do a in house brand for 100 bucks, which sound pretty damn good. Small, white, come with all brackets, and a warranty. Depends on the size of the area your covering. As I no longer work for them, this is totally honest too mate.

lol im not saying Bose are the best but I have them and the sound quality is awesome and I have heard other good speakers too, Jbl are good too I think the best thing to do would be to go down and listen to them yourself everyone has a different opinion on what sound they like best.

im with TJ, go the tight ass option.. i got a pair of 8" 2 way cieling mount for like $90 and they sound pretty good.. i've got them in my alfresco hooked up to the 'b' channel on my denon amp in the lounge so we can watch and hear the plasma when we eat dindinz in the alfresco, and provide enough decent sound for workin in the back yard

Hell they are even on special at 80 bucks atm!

The area manager ( a good friend who got me my job to begin with ) has these at his house. Covers about 6m by 6m. Sounds great, and hes had them up for just on two years.

Or you could just ignore my honest advice. Like I said im at the water corp now, so its no loss to me if you dont go check them out.
