jase's typhoon made a very healthy 461rwhp today at just 11psi!

simon thought it was wise to slowly ease him into power, especially considering the car still runs the standard dunlops (245's) and standard suspension!

once suspension is sorted and some r888 tyres will wind the boost up a bit with a 50/50 mix of U98 & E85 it should be well on its way to seeing 550+hp (400rwkw).

we pick it up tomoz morning, its going to be interesting to see what its like to have a typhoon that's undertired and weighing 300 kilos less than its bigger brother!

ill post dyno and a few photo's tomoz, just happy to share the news now!

skids for kids!

What a weapon this thing is! 500 or so engine horsepower from an otherwise standard turbo and standard bottom end on just 11psi is amazing! it looks feels and goes like my old setup, just a little more fun as its not burdened with 300+ kilos of stereo weight and running on baby sized tyres!

first thing is first, monday morning getting a set of 265 toyo r888's and try and do a deal on a set of DMS40's for it.

im glad i never sold these left over parts and kept it all in the family so to speak. once jase gets comfortable with the power, ill get simon to wind the boost up and go a 50/50 E85 mix to really get things cooking!

spent half the day bat lappin and the other half giving it a full detail, its came up tops !

Guessing these aren't on yet?

They're some impressive numbers from 11psi, how much can the standard bottom end take/what do most tuners wind it to?

yeah not on yet, waiting to get it back to the shop to fit the new 6 piston monobloc brembos on F6F.

afaik the most kw ever recorded from a standard turbo/engine combo was 432rwkw running 25psi & powermax110 fuel. unsure how long this lasted for though. the big limiting factor is not really the bottom end if tuned correctly, its just using U98. 370 seems about its real limit on the standard fare on pump fuel and by just switching to something like E85 really wakes these things up and not just its power figure, but driveability and urgency of boost coming on faster and stronger. i for one have been converted on its use and champion it. the beauty of these cars, is that you can have multiple tunes stored in your flash box. have a safe U98 tune, a 50/50 E85 and a full blown racefuel tune and flash as fuel/use needed. if for example on a 50/50 tune you find yourself half way to bunbury and running out of juice, simply plug the flash box in, restart the car and your on the safe U98 tune until you get a fresh supply of the good stuff.

380-400 makes for a potent street car that once rolling not much can touch or keep up and if tuned on good fuel, then its game over. 500-600 is just lunacy

I really like the exhaust note on that Barra. Although you should see if you can get his wife (your sister??) to slip a set of big cams and a retune into his Xmas stocking

currently making 510.3rwkw & 1285nms at just 4500rpm only using 19psi.

the 1200cc injectors have run out of steam at 4500rpm and some http://www.injectordynamics.com/ ID2000's are coming from the states as we speak and I expect to see around 540-550rwkw at full rpm on 19psi and over 600rwkw at 25psi. lag has also dropped by a full 500rpm as the powerband has shifted earlier and boost comes on stronger than ever before, E85 is the fuel of the gods. How about, the peak power of a standard F6 (250rwkw) at just 2800rpm!!!!

current fuel economy using 100% E85 has settled to around 17.2lts/100km which is amazing for so much power. in comparison, using U98 it sits around 14lts so the myth of using 50% more fuel is, busted!

a custom one off set of ivan albins driveshafts should be here before xmas, kit includes - 2 x 300M Billet driveshafts, 4 x Billet Race 930 CV joints with 30 spline inners, 2 x inner drive flanges, 2 x stub axles, 4 x CV boots, 4 x CV boot flanges, CV bolts. this will go nicely, with the brand new fitted harrop truetrac diff, phil purser custom 110mm tailshaft and fabricated rear end with solid bushes.

the car is also getting two brand new yellow top D31A's to cope with the extra load of the new stereo setup and the ctek xs7000 charger should help them perform better for longer.
