i was quite hesitant to change, as the norm butler twin 2 1/2" system is a work of art, but its reported that the twin 63mm pipes just can't flow enough and it proves a serious power restriction at the levels im chasing, so the art is going to be shelved!

the new exhaust system will marry to the back of the nizpro dumpipe, run no cat's, be made of genuine 100mm mandrel bend pipework running with minimal bends all the way to the back of a super gucci kakimoto racing titanium muffler!

im sorry to report that the engine is no longer with us. it died a very spectacular death this morning. it was shortly after one epic lap that saw wheelspin in every gear including 5th but straight after something did not feel right. we nursed it back to the workshop and that was it, diagnosis, fucked!

so i guess rip the thing out, put it on a pallet then send it to nizpro to see what went wrong. depending on what's wrong i may get them to rebuild it with titanium rods and a billet crank to make sure this wont happen again and ill use this is a learning experience that i should of never messed with a ford and stuck it out with subaru's!

it was, for that brief two months for which it back on the road, just spectacular. nothing could touch you on the street or even come close, it had power everywhere and what brutal power. so much so that im willing to do it all again because it was just so addictive!

ill keep you guys posted and see what comes of it.

lesson here is, leave things STOCK!

Sorry to hear Ramon. Goodluck with the rebuild.

Leave things "stock"? from what I have seen of your work I didn't think that was in your vocabulary

Ramon: What better way to get any built up frustration out than to bring ol' faithful Robo-S201 out for some slides tomorrow? We all know ya wanna, Hills cruise yeaboi!!!

I think by the time you've got this thing sorted you'll have the toughest metals in there this side of a SR-71 Blackbird. As Tino said, I really hope this is a 'relatively' quick fix and never pops up its ugly head again.

yeah would of loved too but the s201 is tied up at mms until next friday with clutch, exhaust, process west cold air, dyno-tune, camber and ride height dumpage....just in time for next sunday's cruise. ill be sure to bust it out then!!

as for the phoon i just hope i don't have to wait another 8-9months like i did the first time. i think that would put the final nail in the coffin in the car for me. put it back to standard and flog it off and get something else. cold hard sober reality hit when i had to catch public transport this afternoon.
