Chris, i've heard the reefs around Watermans / North Beach can be pretty good. I've never done them though. Have free dived off Cott a few times and it was very good!

Im now confident that Perth shore dives are probably on par with many areas of the Great Barrier Reef... Word of warning to anyone who plans to go

Carls, we've only seen a few sharks over the past few trips here in Cairns and all of them have been scared of us! 95% of em are harmless!

Edit: I think its called Centaur Reef or something chris. Theres also the back of Penguin Island. At best it would probably only get to 8-10m around the northern reefs but would make for a nice cruisey dive.

Grnx, I thought you were talking day... I don't have my advanced ticket yet, will that be a problem?

Did boy in a boat sat.. I thought it was really good. Heaps of swim thrus, plenty of life & good vis, big fun.

Cheers for those couple of spots Mat, I'm sure I'll check them out.

Rocco shore dive is a real beginners dive, the wrecks are cool but there's just shit growing on them due to all the contact from learner divers.

Also while were dive planning... how about a day trip out to rotto. Dive, Ski & Surf at e shed (best dive shop in Perth I might add. $50 full kit hire) do a day trip out there for $150 inc two dives & lunch on the boat. Doesn't sound like there's a ton of us on here but if we all bring a buddy we should get a few of us. I've never dived Rotto, keen to check it out.

Chris, i'd be up for a boat dive (i prefer diving in "groups" so its good!) for sure! I use Hillarys Dive or whatever they are and they charge about $175 inc gear hire for 2 boat dives so that price isnt too bad.

Do u work mon-fri?
