I am young and currently in a labouring styled job, i am wanting to make extra cash and have been looking towards the mining industry, however most requires experience or is an apprentiship. i am looking for just general labouring to keep me busy and was wondering if any one has connections or is in that kind of business and could help me out. Roche Mining JR in belmont.No experience needed T.A's on about $2200 in the hand a week 5 weeks on 1 off they put any1 on as long as you can pass a medical

Not much general labouring in the mining industry...lots of mining/drilling related labouring though. You need to work out what you want/are willing to do. Truck driving, shortcrew, nipper & driller's offsider are a few (almost) walk in jobs at the moment - but only if your going to stick with it for a while. No point training someone for 3 months to have the f'koff after 6 months. Rosters will be poor for most of these positions.

I do 8 days on / 6 days off and get $2900 in the hand every fortnight, that works out to be around $45 per hour.
