Default 2000 Forester 4x4 upgrades

Hey guys. Before anyone shoots me down and tellls me that my Forester is not a real 4x4,well I already know this .
This 4x4 is my up North vehicle that I leave in Karratha and use it when need be. What im after is a lift kit that actually works and doesnt need alot of work to convert.Im also after any other upgrades that will make it a better vehicle offroad. If anyone has experience in mods I would appreciate any feedback.
Can anyone also tell me if the 17 inch standard WRX wheels fit and what tyre size is right for this vehicle?
Cheers in advance

Welcome to OzFoz.com

17s will fit no dramas.

Check out subtle solutions as I'm sure they have a bolt on lift kit.

Try here too, mostly deal with newer Subi's, easiest way is 2" strut top spacers. OFFROADSUBARUS.com

GX-REX, Def interested in the rims . Need to sort them within a couple of weeks before I head back to Perth.
This car will be used for light 4x4ing around Karratha etc and to load a tinny. The standard height just doesnt cut it for ut here. extrq inch or 2 will help sort it out.
Thanks and appreciate the replies guys

You'll also need a set of Dobinson springs, absolutely fantastic ride and will help lift it a good inch alone, Malaga Suspension are the suppliers I think, they'll also supply and fit the strut lifts at the same time.

I've got them in my WRX and no matter how hard I belt it on the dunes it won't bottom out.

And don't let them bullshit you into replacing your rear struts, they all try it on but not all Foz's have the self leveling rear struts, you can tell because they have an extra little canister hanging off the bottom of them (like rally car struts), I've got 01 Foz struts in the WRX and they are fine, of course if they are self leveling you'll need to replace them, usually with Koni's so get under the back and have a look before you waste an extra $400.

Self leveling strut

Dobinson on mine, they are quite a bit stronger than the other options.
