Default Boost Controller

Hey guys,

The better half and I have just taken delivery of our 98 Wrx wagon. It has a few basic mods, and a few little extra goodies to install along the way. Needless to say i am worried about the lady getting in and getting into trouble as it is the first time she has driven a turbocharged vehicle, and with boost currently running at 17psi. My question, is what you would recommend in the way of a dual stage boost controller, or atleast one that will allow two boost maps, which are selectable on the fly, perhaps one running at about 9 - 10 psi, and the other at 16-17psi.

any suggestions?

cheers

James

Why not just leave it at 17psi

My98 runs 14odd psi stock anyway.

Thanks for the swift reply,

I'll call around and see about some pricing.

because the most powerful car the missus has driven is a daewoo 95i, it's like stepping from a go cart to a f1 comparitively.

You could just let her know to control her driving. Not being nasty, but maybe show her the ropes of a turbocharged car? Show her when the 'Power' is produced. Does MY98 have ABS? Id imagine so.

The difference from 10psi and 17psi may be different powerwise, but the fact the turbo suddenly spools wont change, so the initial surge in power will still be there, the only difference is the quantity of it...

I've been looking up the profec and it looks the business.

yeah i am more worried about the quantity, learn her a bit on the 10psi side of things then she can progress as she feels comfortable.

cheers guys
