Default Twin turbo -> Single turbo conversion - ECU question

Hi guy's,

Bit of background - relative newb on perth-wrx, but a bit of a suby forum-whore in general. This question relates to my twin turbo, B4 Lib.

If I was to (hypothetical only at this point) do a twin turbo -> single turbo conversion, would I be able to use a wrx or wrx-sti EJ20 single turbo ECU?

How difficult would it be to replace said ECU? Would the new ECU need to be completely rewired into the car?

Obviously it would need a re-tune after installing, but i'm talking purely about the ECU's ability to do the job needed.

I know its a long shot asking on a wrx forum, but I'm struggling to find a good answers elsewhere. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks blokes! (and maybe ladies).

- Alex.

Yes, RSLC has some decent info but doesn't say specifically if you can use a wrx or wrx-sti ecu and how hard it is to wire up or if I need a whole new custom ECU.

I sort of asked the same question at the same time on a few different forums

As long as it takes basically...
I've got a run-about bunky so, not time limited at all - why do you ask?

It that time consuming, eh?

Contact Al on RSLC. You can send off your wiring loom to him and for a few hundred he'll re do it so you can simply plug in a Ver3 STI ECU. Then when you get it back you just put it all back into you car and plug in the ECU and off you go.

if you have the wiring diagram, its not difficult at all.

not sure what ECU you have, but if it is a non-avcs engine, you could probably wire in a 01 wrx ecu without too many dramas.
