I was thinking because I'm not upgrading to a huge turbo (VF 38 is in the garage), that really most of the tunning attention would be on the mid to higher part of the rev range hence why I was looking at a piggyback.

Pretty much. Leaning towards the Power FC now.....I don't want to buy a piggyback and then after a month or two of running it decide I want to upgrade to a full ecu, which in the first place would have only been a little bit extra cash over the piggyback.

i used to have a unichip type A on my 99 gt, bought it secondhand (with the boost moduole) for $350, installed and tuned by tim slako at west racing for $550, with a vf-22 it went alright, pushed about 170-180 kw atw, blew a bit of smoke as was a pretty rich tune, despite what everyone else says i couldn't really fault the tune & was happy with the service and backup support for the money it cost me

just keep your afm clean and you should have no drama's, & if you want a better air filter go an apexi dry panel or power-intake pod, stay well clean of any k&n oiled panel or pod filters as they will kill your afm

don't bother putting the vf38 on, they are known to shit out the titanium wheels. If its in good condition currently, put it on your shelf and wait for some poor sucker to break one and then sell it to them for $5k

Have you seen this happen? It has delivery kms on it, so it's just about brand new.
