I am off to the U.S in September and I am intending to upgrade from the horrible POS Olympus Waterproof P&S I have now.

I had a Canon Ixus before the Olympus and it was good.. slow but good.
The Olympus is just hideous so I will only use it on the Jetski once I get the new P&S

I want to know anybodies opinion on a good P&S. No I am not talking about several thousand dollar Leica M8's but a decent P&S.

I am seriously erring towards a Leica DLux3

Can anybody else recommend a good P&S which does outstanding P&S photography for the times when I CBF lugging the 350D around?

I am ecstatic!!! However it is wrapped in a stupid Duty free bag until monday when I am off to the U.S Again!

Can't wait to play with this bad boy on the plane and hopefully catch some oxygen masks dropping out of the qantas flight*

I could get a silver one from Keeble and Shuchat in Palo Alto as I am there on monday for $599 US ex tax as the Dlux-3 is being superseded at the end of the month. However I went and saw Mandurah Duty Free as I have bought way too much shit off of them over the years.

Peter just about died when I said I can get it for $649 inc Tax US. He had a price tag of $1199 on it (CRACK PIPE). I got him to $807 duty free with a Lowepro bag and a no name 4GB SD Card. I went with him for 2 reasons.. I can play with it on the plane and it is in black which I wanted so for $8 more with bag and card included I think I did ok
