Default Canon 50d

http://www.photographybay.com/2008/0...ed-real-specs/

Looking good, hope it's priced near to the outgoing 40d.

Not to forget also the new 1000d, which as far as I can tell is pretty much a 400d. Which would be an excellent starting point.

the 1000d is a lower entry model vs the 450d

its funny how the cheaper the camera gets the more zero's its model number has :P

specs on the 50d are interesting, not really what i was expecting, as the 40d was always sports focused and the 50d does not seem to be very fast at 6.3fps however it does have other nice things that are obviously in competition with the nikon d300 like the mp boost and the iso range.

makes you wonder what the 5d's replacement is going to get.

Its pretty much a 40D with more megapixels, same fps and focus zones.

The test photo taken at ISO 1600 was impressive.

Word is there are two Canon bodies getting released at Photokina in Sep...one is the 50D and the other noone knows...but since suppliers can't buy any more 5Ds from Canon one would assume that will be the other model released...so hope that is the case!

I've been told that the 50D is not a 40D replacement - they will offer both models for a while. Canon want to take advantage of that area of the market with more options for the consumer to choose from.
