When doing a car shoot or model photography usually there is some darkend shading around the outside corners all all the way around the pic.

How the hell do ya do this lol. I have searched outube and tryed to do it manally with airbrush on photoshop and searched all through there different functions.

Its driving me NUTS!!!!!!

I have Corel Paint Shop Pro X and also Adobe Photoshop CS2

Im new to this photoshop so forgive my stupidity

I dunno if this is the the "propper" way of doing it, but in PS7 I...

1. double click the image in the layer control bar, and name the layer.
2. double click it again, and the layer style window opens.
3. Use "stroke" to put a border around the image. Ensure you select "Inside" from the position drop down menu.
4. Use "Inner Shadow" to put the shading all the way around the inside edges of the image.

I'm a self taught PS noob, so there's a good chance there's different ways of doing it... but for what i need, it does the job.

I have a lens filter that puts a bit of that shading around the edges. Looks cool. But I believe the effect is originally from LOMO cameras Linky .

Dunno how to do it properly though... Get a LOMO Camera?

its called vignetting. its an effect you can get naturally from wide angle lenses.
I would just paint a layer by hand in photoshop.

If you take your photos in RAW, when you open them there is an option to add vignetting, this makes it very easy.

the burn tool??
Select what you dont want to burn, feather the section out and adjust the opacity of the burn tool to the shading you desire.
