I'm yet to see one dj do this. It's an easy way to avoid learning your tracks...

You may as well put an ipod on shuffle if you're going to play songs with the same BPM.

are you sure they are not in harmonical order?
there is a good programe out there called 'Mixed in key'
http://www.mixedinkey.com/
these places tracks in order according to there harmonical keys... helps avoid key clashes.... dont get me wrong there this is not so you can go and place the 'next track on the list' type sets.. more so you have idea of what tracks blend well...
say you have track a playing... and you want to go and play track b but track a does not allow a good transition point or decent break down that you want to use.... this will asist you and go well maybe if i chuck in track c first then smash in track b it will make for better flow....something like that

Whatever is at the venue - Usually 800's or 1000's. I came from vinyl and Serato also.

my tracks are just organised by in to folder by bpm i.e 80-85bpm, 85-90bpm, 90-95bpm and so on, obviously your not going to mix in songs that have a bpm far apart like an 80 bpm song into a 95bpm track, you cant speed up/slow down a song by that much, unless your going scratch it in or drop it in neatly. Thats why its good to group them in folders by bpm so you easy access to finding all the songs the can be used for mixing in out of the previous playing track, instead of having search around your folders.

heaps of tracks are going to have the same or close bpms so its inevitable you could mix em on the odd occaision, epsecially if the sound good together when mixed.

I think alot of pros use the bpm etc but they have proved to us they can mix tighter than a nuns narchie. with the bpm out the way they can focus on creating some thing we will all remember. Sasha and Digweed for instance, just brilliant, they are what a DJ is all about.

i use to be obsessed with beat matching but a dj set is more than that ,its about creating something special. anyone can mix two songs together no problems but not everyone can create something special.
