Care to explain how a computer can "do the hard part for you"? I wasn't aware that Serato or CDJ's could match beats and mix...

With all due respect, where do you play exactly? Sounds like you're a "proper" dj.

seriously technology is taking over , if your still worried about matching beats then you will be left behind. To get anywhere in the DJ world internationally you would have to produce and do some very good remixes.

anyone can match up the beats no problems its not that fucking hard really. people make it out to be the hardest thing in the world, when it isnt. just need alil practice.

like i said before if a DJ makes the crowd dance then his job is done.

well with programs like serato and ableton you can pre organise your set's and have it set up so you dont even have to alter the speed of each song so their beat matched. all you do is drag the track to the turntable on your laptop and press go! pretty much. as long as you know when to drop it and so on. cdj's cant beatmatch for ya you gotta do that yourself!!

i dont consider myself to be a "propper dj", but i've played a few places around perth: rosemount hotel, maxx, uber bar and a couple of raves to. each to their own, some ppl like cdj's some ppl like vinyl, some ppl like using computer programs. personally i like vinyl because i think its easy to read and you can pick the needle up and place it wherever you like without have'n to fast foward to it.

There's been endless wars over this digital vs. real wax for the reason that people don't know anything about Serato, etc. You might want to do your research before commenting any further as what you've said above is not the case at all.

I can see where you're coming from, but the digital world opens up a whole new set of doors (no, not for pre-planning sets). Watch some of the guys who have mastered it - The likes of DJ AM, Jazzy Jeff, etc. Even you diehard vinyl fans will find it hard not to be impressed. It's why I made the move from wax to Serato...
