Default DSLR Not focussing correctly

Hey All,

My old trusty 350D is not focussing.

It is on AF, Green, the viewfinder is sharp, it locks onto the image saying it is focussed, I take the photo, upload it to my computer and it is blurry.

It is happening on all lenses.

Anybody know what the problem could be?

Cheer

Have a look at this and do the focus test.
http://www.focustestchart.com/focus10.pdf

If it shows your focus is out, you will need to take it to a camera shop to have it re-adjusted.

*Post Updated with chart link instead of thread.

and while you there convert it to an IR camera

So run it on One shot?

I have always used AI Servo or Focus. Why not those modes?

AI Servo is for moving targets/subjects. Its constantly changing as opposed to locked on.

yeah and AI FOCUS locks on an object but then once it senses movement focus will shift. Use One Shot.

Got it.

Well on the whole not focussing correctly, after removing the battery and fully charging it, has come good. I can't work out how the hell charging the battery would solve the problem but it seems to have for the time being.

This year I am definitely upgrading cameras, the 350 is very dated now. If I didn't have so many Canon Lenses I would definitely move over to Nikon.

AF uses battery to work hence if the battery is drained it won't work when you get to the point of selling 350d i might be interested in the body only
