Default Canon 7D

Hi all,

I am looking to buy canon 7D. Any suggestions on what type of lens to get and where I can get a good price. I don't mind buying online

Thanks

Sunny

How much do you want to spend and what will you use it for? 24-70mm and a 70-200 f2.8 is a good place to start though.

What type of shooting do you do? 7D is fine for sports/action...but if you are just getting into it I would suggest a lower body to begin with to spend more on quality glass (as mentioned above). 500D or 50D is a better start point unless you have money to burn.

What you want to shoot really determines what lens to buy.

Shopping local gives you peace of mind for support and warranty.
Online, I'd recommend DWI: http://www.dwidigitalcameras.com.au but there are a bunch of good stores out there.

Twin kit lenses are the gay btw.

Get some quality L lenses on the 350D and learn to use it more (this is what I'm doing). 7D body will cost ~$2k. Spend that on a lens instead to see much better pictures.

The body won't make a photograph, but it is the lens and technique.

^^ whs

besides if you're looking at spending around $2k for a body might as well go 5d mkII and use the full frame sensor, better quality + shooting at high ISO isn't as much of a problem as on a crop sensor

http://www.d-d-electronics.com.sg/ has good pricing, if you don't want to buy from the Singapore site they have a Australian site which ships out of Sydney http://www.d-d-photographics.com.au/

As an owner of some very high quality Ziess lens I can assure you the image is in the lens NOT the body.

As such, buy an appropriate body and spend the extra cash on the lens.

What you fellas are saying is true but! The IQ difference between the 350d and a 7d would be like night and day.

I'd compromise.
50d or second hand 40d and a new lens?
