I have just recieved my D7000, now I need to get some nice lens. Any suggestions, nothing that will break the bank. I have a 18-105 as part of the deal.
Thanks in advance.

What do you want to shoot?
The nikon 14-24mm ultra-wide zoom is great... But is going to be useless to you if you want to shoot the surface of the moon.

I have a D70s with
- 18-200mm ED VR II f3.5-5.6G lens
- 35mm DX F1.8G

Love both lens. Only recently got the 35mm lens but loving it so far. Great quality for a cheap price

NIKKOR 24-70mm f/2.8G ED
Best Standard zoom lens imo, be better in a FF but D7k is as good as it gets.

Nikon AF-S 35mm F1.8G DX
Prime Lens - always on my camera awesome for indoor parties with a flash(SB700) and low light usage.

Next will probably be a macro lens or a ultra wide angle lens

I have a D7000 which is a crop sensor body of 1.5x? - so 24mm x 1.5 = 36mm deff not wide enough.

You would need something like a nikkor 12-24 f/2.8 or even a 3rd party lens like tokina 11-16 f/2.8 to get the ultra wide on a crop body

or just get a full frame camera and get the equivalent 14-24 I think?

The Nikkor 18-200 VR II is a great versatile lens

If you have a crop body, and intend to stay on a crop body (which isn't a stupid idea. They have their advantages) just get an APS-C lens to suit.
Just because a lens is made for a FF body, doesn't automatically make it better.
There's plenty of good ultra-wide zooms for Nikon's 1.5 sensor.
Tokina 11-16mm
Nikon 12-24mm
Tokina 12-24mm
Sigma 10-20mm
Sigma 8-16mm

Just to name a few.

For my D700 I have:
Nikon 50mm f/1.8 prime
Sigma 12-24mm f/4.5 ultrawide zoom
Tamron 28-200mm f/3.8

Next two on the wish list are the 24-70 2.8 and 70-200 2.8.

I have been thinking of getting a 50mm but not to sure if I should get a 1.8 or 1.4, then I also don't understand the difference between a G or D lens. But there is big price difference. You can get a 1.8g for $80 or a 1.4d for $440 not to sure if I will see the difference at my early playing with my camera phase.
