Default Looking East?.....In need of an East facing lookout asap!.

Hi all,

Does anyone know of an East facing lookout to the East of the Perth hills?

I'm trying to find somewhere with an unobstructed view to the horizon, it must face East or East-Southeast.

Open to ideas guys!

I have until 2 am to find somewhere (last minute ha ha!).

We have a clear sky tonight & Comet Lovejoy will put on a show between 3 & 4 am....I'd like to find somewhere schweet to capture it.

Cheers for the help

From the images I have seen, the comet is fairly visible and streaks across a good section of the sky. I would just "drive east" around say Bickley (the observatory area), Chidlow or perhaps even Lake Leschenaultia and look for an opening towards the east/south east. If you want to drive a bit further out, how about that main hill in York? I'm not sure of the roads that lead up that way but there are some high points which give good views all round.

edit: a photographer in Mandurah took some overlooking the Estuary also...

Cheers for that ^^

Ideally I wan to find something that overlooks farmland from a little height, I want to try to get some depth in my shots of the comet.

I was thinking of using one of the Dams originally.
