Default Suggest me a new lens!

Hey Guys,

Looking to put some more money into a new Lens <$1300

I currently have,

Canon 60D
Canon EF 135mm f/2.0 L USM Lens
Sigma 10mm F2.8 EX DC HSM Fisheye
Sigma 30mm f/1.4 EX DC HSM Lens

I'm looking for something for some more car photography stuff, surfing etc.

Happy to here all recommendations, prefer something that isn't fixed though like my last 3!

Thinking maybe something in the range from 20-100mm shooting range?

Thanks guys!

50mm f1.4 is a nice bit of lens.
I would be looking at something like the 24-70mm f/2.8 or the 70-200 f/2.8.

I went down the path of getting the 100-400, when I should have gotten the 70-200 with a 1.4x tele converter

50mm is too close to that 30, plus I've heard they are quite similar?

The 24-70 seems like a good piece of kit.. anyone use one that have some example photos of?

yeh on a crop body... 30mm = 50mm

maybe something like the sigma 50-150 2.8??
looking at getting something like that myself... should be more around the 70-200 on full frame body

For your budget/body, I'd get the 24-105 or if you can extend the budget 24-70

Sounds good guys, think I'm going to stretch the budget and get that 24-70, looked at a few reviews online and seems to be a good piece of kit!

This should be able to go onto a 5D mk ii yeah? (I intend on getting one at the end of this year)

From memory the L series lenses are the EF mount, so they are compatible on full frame (5D) or cropped sensor (60D) cameras.

There EF-S lenses aren't compatible on the full frame cameras.

Think the white square near the base of the lens means that it is EF-S and the red dot means EF.

waits for resident photography experts to chime in...

Having just used a 24-70mm on my 550d for 4 days, I would highly suggest it. It was a bit hard to get used to having to be a bit further back compared to my Sigma 17-70mm but the speed of the lens and the clarity is amazing! Great lens! I have to buy one now. I thought I could manage before without it, but I was wrong.
