Will be very interesting to see it's true size. Anyone that has flown on a380's will know how big of a plane the a380 truly is....they are massive!

Below is a size comparison between 747-4, a380 an the antinov....It's a monster. Would also imagine it would be rather deafening. The outer engines would have to consume some debris being so far off the edge of the runways at most airports.

Unfortunately, wont be able to make it. Would imagine it will get some pretty good coverage though so I'm not completely bummed out.

The cost to run this plane would be astronomical. Must be some pretty valuable mining equipment!

apart from the obvious spots, where would be a good place to see it land and take off , up in the hills somewhere ?

I grew up a mile away from an RAF base that has the longest runway in the UK RAF finningley. It's now Doncaster airport and the Antinov is a regular there. My favourite though will always be the Vulcan Bomber which is based there. Sadly lack of funding meant that it flew for the last time last year. Saw them both take off on the same day once. Incredible!!

Based at RAF Waddington at the beginning of the 90's which was the home of the Vulcan Display Team. I was covering the airfield the day she departed for the last time under MOD ownership :-)

What did you do at RAF Waddington Mcclacker ?

I was at RAF Wattisham with 56 Sqn Phantoms for 2 years in the mid 80's.
