Yeh, there's no other way otherwise. 6 stop ND filter.
You can get 10 stoppers, but they're very expensive.
The downside to shooting long exposures during the day... the wind. Especially when you're on the beach with no protection. Lens blur ahoy.

I've just got my 550d back, so am about to read some Scott Kelby books to learn the basics! At this point I'm really struggling with it, using the auto mode with the lens that came with it just isn't doing it for me.

Bought a 50mm canon lens, and about to buy a Tokina 12-24mm lens as I'm solely interested in landscapes (maybe the odd car shot) - just need to learn how to use them :-)

If anyone would like a Datacolor Spyder 2 to calibrate their monitor/laptop with I have one here free to a good home. Just purchased myself a Spyder 3.
