Can someone with bit of knowledge explain this to me, with handheld lasers you only get notified when the cop is measuring your speed?
The Laser Beam from a handheld laser gun is also very narrow in circumference, you are not always guaranteed an alert from the V1 radar detector if the office shoots the car's in front of you.

There have also been circumstances where the officer shoots your car with the police laser gun and no alert is received, as it may have been at a fairly close distance, the laser beam was not scattered or did not spread to reach your radar detector's receiver which is located no where near your grill.

A laser protector such as the LI or HP-905 uses sensors which mount in your grill to detect and prevent instant speed readings from occurring on your car. The new Hp-905 uses the smallest laser diode heads on the market.

And if the officer can't get a speed reading he'll know something is up, indicate for you to pull over and promptly bend you over for using something that is preventing them from obtaining a speed reading.

Well what you are referring to is jamming a police officer up to the gun. If you decide to not turn off your jammers and prevent the office from not being able to get your speed at all then I suppose you can draw attention to yourself.
When used intelligently - these devices are highly undetectable as the officer only receives a slightly delayed reading (which is normal for lidar) and no jamming codes (E07) are every activated on his gun.

Hi mate, no worries there - I like to use small 'u' when driving through commercial areas and around the CBD area. Only takes 2 seconds to change into large U for highways or freeways which turns K band on and will alert to Highway patrol cars if any are running instant or constant ON radar.

Cheers,

Rowan
