Parts and Purchasing
I'm envisaging this to be a bit of a database of online and RL shops that are good for purchasing parts/accessories and kits etc
I have purchased from HobbyKing R/C Hobby Store : which looks to be a great site for parts/batteries/chargers etc. Also been recommended Race & Drift Japan for all things drift/road including upgrade kits etc! Go for gold, I'm sure there are heaps more great sites for different bits, as well as eBay!

RC Mart for cheap hop-up and spares from a range of manufacturers.
Marty's toys and Stanbridges for local needs like Paint and Tools, or starter kits. Stanbridges are a bit expensive I feel though. |

If you are looking for more Race orientated parts and cars.
RC-Mushroom, Your One Stop RC Pro Shop -shipping is cheaper than RCMart. RC Market -site is slow but has a good range. RC Cars & Trucks, RC Helicopters & Planes - A Main Hobbies -an american site owned by an aussie, plenty of racing and basher gear plus planes and heli`s. As for local shops, yes stanbridges is a bit exxy-a bit of advice tell them you are a club member ie;precc and you will get a discount. If you are looking for local racing gear go to Ryper Hobbies in canningvale and speak to either dave or josh as both are racers and are the owners. They will give the best discounts of all the shops and if they dont have it they will get it in for you.

I've spent around $5k with Hobby King, it too is owned & run by a couple of Aussies based in Hong Kong (they also have a warehouse in NSW).
You will not find cheaper lipo's anywhere (Turnigy & Zippy Flightmax packs are made by hobbyking themselves).....I have about 20 of their packs from 1000mah up to 6000mah, some are running as high as 200 amps & I've not had a single cell puff in 4 years. They also have 2.4 ghz radio's from $30! Worth a having good look around their site, this company is the sole reason why we no longer pay upwards of $80 for lipo's...... even locally. I'm eagerly awaiting the February release of their 8kg gas turbine system for r/c jets.

My Evo X shell rolled up today, but I haven't sourced any paint yet, and I don't think bunnings is the ideal place to buy it! Where does everyone buy paint from?

You need to buy proper Tamiya PS paint as it flexes and sticks to the polycarbonate body. You get it from most hobby stores..
This is the Tamiya PS Paint chart. http://www.tamiya.com/english/products/list/ps.htm

Cheers Mitch, after reading somewhere that the shop you mentioned to me on FB was actually in Perth, I looked up the address and it's literally 5 mins down the road from my office here!... So I now have a can of bright silver and a can of black Tamiya paint sititng here on my desk ready to go!
