It is worth exactly what the market is willing to pay at the time, so you really answered your question in the first post. Clearly today's economic climate is not the time to sell a collectable anything for a premium price.
It would be interesting to know what you paid for it and why you bought it....to have a rare collectable car yourself or to make some money? If the latter, forget it right now. If the former, then it's a no brainer...keep it. Basically, if you get a reply from someone like Ramon (WRXRW), who is the world's most ardent GC8-ista, saying it's too pricey (ie he wouldn't buy it) then you are in a bind. Good luck anyway!

Im not saying i know my 22b s buts thats all there is in the world. With other models like the s201 etc i dont know much about them my own personal opinion is that the 22b is the most revered subaru model ever produced!! Some people will disagree with that and thats fair enough i like all the models except the current one which is more of a hairdressers car.ive also been very lucky to drive a lot of supercars ferrari etc but i have to say driving the 22b still gives me severe wood in my undies!!!!

To nauli
The reason i bought was to own one and enjoy it not make money. With regards to what i paid it was well over $100,000 and i dont mean a few thousand!!! With regards to Ramon and his comments i do appreciate his views but i still feel its worth more than say 80k.In relation to selling or keeping it every day i want to drive it but i cant because its too valuble just like Ramons s201 i want to keep it but i dont want to just leave it locked away i would rather buy a rough one and use it all the time thats my dilemma much as i love it i cant drive it the way i want to(like a complete nutter!!!) |

unfortunately there were over 1000 of 22b's made.
only 400 or so made it to road cars, the rest were sold direct to european rally teams and via prodrive.
