Default Almost brand new GD coilovers-STD from evoR

Up for grabs is almost brand new coilovers. they have done less than 2000km's since new and were bought a month ago. im selling the car so i took the coilovers out. they cost $1050 RRP brand new from any australian reseller (more from america and japan) this coilover set fits any of the gd series from 2001-2005 but only wrx and impreza, not sti! It is possible for sti but you need bigger strut supports at the base.

Springs are currently rated at 6kg/8kg

anyone that has a wrx or has shopped with evoR will obviously know all about these types of coilovers

chasing $800. still have receipt-were purchased 6/11/2013. has two year warranty included from evoR

**recommended installation is by a professional as these items have to be balanced once installed. however the height they are set at, you can install them as soon as you get them. however the nuts that hold the top had on (12mm ones) you need to use on these ones from your old suspension as they are not supplied.**

SUSPENSION SYSTEMS FEATURES - (Taken from std website)

We aim to have a complete line up of high-performance suspension systems that will perform during extreme driving conditions. To ensure that we’re able to meet this standard we manufacture all of our suspension systems with a mono-tube design. This internal structure design separates the gas chamber from the oil chamber.

With a twin tube structure, the gas chamber is not separate from the oil chamber therefore allowing the oil to move freely from the inner chamber to the outer when the suspension stroke is damping. Twin-tube suspension systems are used by many manufacturers due to their lower cost of production.

Although mono-tube suspension structure provides high durability and comfort the system still requires more research, development and investment in order to create a remarkable manufactured product.

The benefits of mono-tube suspension structure:

The separation of the gas chamber from the oil chamber provides optimum damping making the car ride smoother, the reaction time quicker and the overall security much safer.

The piston area can be expanded to allow for a suspension system that will easily react to the smallest imperfection on the road. This feature also allows for a quicker reaction time and a more comfortable ride.
The shell case itself works as a cylinder. While not covered by an outer tube, the cylinder is directly exposed to the air, providing much better heat dissipation and preventing the oil from overheating while at the same time maintaining high performance.

It can include an inverted strut type structure design to increase its rigidity. While cornering, enhanced rigidity helps to provide a safer ride by allowing better control and stability
It can increase oil capacity and lifetime, therefore allowing damper to stay properly adjusted for a much longer period of time.

Damping adjustments are more sensitive with a mono-tube suspension structure.
STD Suspension systems are made with the highest quality materials

Each cylinder contains high-purity nitrogen gas to ensure that the shock absorber will perform in a stable and smooth manner. The seamless steel tubes are incorporated with a chrome molybdenum alloy. This approach produces durable steel tubes to ensure they will operate without flexing, even under high performance driving. Each application has a specific cylinder. Springs are powder coated and have specially ground surfaces.

Two very different companies, two very different products, and nothing to do with one another.

Nothing wrong with the product, I would use STD standard without hesitation if I had to. Just not same products, different companies from different countries with different technologies.

It's like saying K&W is the same company as Ohlins, or GReddy is same as Tomei, Nestlé is Colgate, etc....no its not.

Just clearing a common misconception that STD standard is Standard Suspension USA
