This was mentioned in another thread which went spazzo and ended up closed...

Just interested to know...has anyone actually used this software? I dont wanna argure...or bring up old talk...just a simple yes or no.

yup i used ecu explorer...got the cable for $40 i think...pretty good im quite happy with it. Originally bought it to find out why my "check engine" light was coming up. Figured it was cheaper than paying $50 to subaru for the same thing. The software can do a lot more...especially on GDs

Yes.

But, don't use it unless you know how to use the software, tune a car properly, have access to a dyno, are able to check AFR's or don't mind your engine going boom.

There are lots and lots of variables and conditions that you need to get corrent.

This is why for stock ECU retuning people go to Verso or ECUTek as you are paying for the knowledge of the tuner.

I use it for one thing only and thats to check ecu error codes. i dont mess with anything else on it.

Yeah it's fairly easy to use, as the fella above me said I also use it just to check the codes/troubleshooting if the car is playing up. I do not touch the fuel maps...as I dont want to fark up the car
