This was the guy who did the "subdata scan" for the Rs liberty's.

They were pretty good iirc.

Ive got one of the current model Subdatascans. One of the best gadgets Ive ever had.

I'll be upgrading to the new model when it comes out no doubt.

I'm keen if the Price is not going to be overpriced for what it is.

Any idea on what the model before this one cost if there was one?

Yes. It also has a GPS receiver in it. But doesn't come with the GPS software. So if you can "source" the software by other means, you can use it as a GPS navigator too. It runs a Windows CE OS, so that should be easy enough.
