Default will STI ECU plug into non STI?

I've got a v5 JDM STI motor and i'm running it on a non sti ECU (Y7 22611 AE802). I have 2000 model GC8KH8D
Now with the right JDM STI ecu plug straight into the the non STI plugs? or does it have to be re-wired?
i've received the wrong ecu with my motor so i'm waiting for the right one to arrive.
I know the JDM ecu is to run 100ron fuel, so how much would it effect my car by running 98octane?
Or should i just look at getting aftermarket ecu?

thx

providing the wiring looms are JDM, then you can use JDM ECU's,

if you have AUDM wiring looms, then you will need to swap A5/A6 wires cam/crank over to make a JDM ecu work.

i'll be receiving my JDM WRX STi 555 RA ECU sometime this week its a J2 22611 AF041. The plugin are the same as Y7 22611 AE802.
so i'll still need to swap the wires over? does anyone know where i can get the right ecu wire diagram?
is there anything else that i might need to do? to get this working?

I have a V5 STi ecu myself that I've been wanting to drop in to my 99WRX but when swapping the wires. Do you need a special tool to swap the wires or just pull them out and pop back in ?

I have done an engine swap from my my99 evo2 engine with a my00 sti engine and ecu but the J2 sti ecu won't fire my fuel pump. My original ecu E3 will start and run fine… Any ideas? i used my original wiring harness so i'm assuming i will need to do A5/A6 pin swap but not sure about the fuel pump? Any help appreciated
